What we do when we are not training

At Shudokan Aikido Oxford we have a very active social side to the club.

Throughout the year we get together to celebrate a number of different occasions - birthdays, club events ... We don't need an excuse. As a club member you will always be included. We also hope that you will bring along your partner and family.

Summer School

Oxford Martial ArtsEach year our organisation, Shudokan Institute of Aikido International, holds a four day training event. This is usually held on the last weekend of July. It is a great opportunity to train with students and instructors from across the UK. Some year's guest instructors attended, including Robert Mustard sensei and Joe Thambu sensei - both 7th Dan Black Belts and top Aikido teachers. There are also lots of social events at Summer School.

Several of our students attend and we always stay together in the same accommodation.

See the Events page for details »»

Summer Picnic

Oxford Martial ArtsOver the last few years we have held a club summer picnic. This is a great opportunity for everyone to socialise and meet each others families.

Christmas Party etc

Oxford Martial ArtsWe always celebrate things like Christmas and New Year. Also events like gradings and anniversaries - we don't really need an excuse.
